﷯I love to document life and the connections we share with one another. Photography is a passion that's grown immensely as I document my own life and the lives of my children. My photography journey began in 2000 after spending some time in a college darkroom and finally saving enough money to purchase my own SLR camera, a few lenses, and some film. As the digital age came about I gradually moved into digital photography a few years later. I dream of one day having my own darkroom in my home, because there is nothing quite like the magic of film. I began shooting mostly architectural, travel, and landscape photography, but I've always loved capturing documentary style photographs of people. My love of portrait photography grew as our family grew, and I began photographing my own children. As a professional photographer, my primary focus is maternity, newborns, babies, young children and their families. I love to take photographs that capture the true essence and emotion of the moment -- those real-life moments that are so fleeting and precious. The oh-so funny way your two-year-old winks at you, your seven-year-old's joyous laughter, and even a big pouty lip from your four-year-old are moments to be frozen and treasured as they fly by so quickly. I strive to capture each person as they truly are and the connections shared within a loving family. Perfect hair and perfect wardrobe are optional. The REAL you is most beautiful. When I'm not wearing my photographer's hat, I'm caring for new families as a labor & delivery RN or enjoying time with my family. Kenny, my husband of 13 years, is an architect. We have three silly kiddos, Sofie, 7, Liam, 4, and Stella, 3. I love that both of my jobs allow for me to be a stay-at-home mommy with them. These early years are so very sweet and something I will always treasure. We have lived in the Brookside neighborhood in KCMO for 12 years and counting, and I absolutely love it. I'm a bit of a modern hippie mom, who shops local, eats organic, and lives green. One of my most favorite things is traveling and seeing the world. As our children get older, I look forward to showing them the world. My dream job would be to travel the world for 6 months attending births as both a nurse and a photographer. I'm fascinated by the similarities and differences of laboring women in all cultures. I love all kinds of food and enjoying a good drink and some seriously loud laughter with good friends. I like to crochet, read, learn new things, and watch movies. I'm a HUGE Royals fan!! I love to laugh and meet new people, and I would love to meet you. Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail to set up your session!

real + true + you
